Hello and welcome!
My name is Mallory, and THIS is my healthy little corner of the Internet. I am a nutrition graduate student, “soon to be” RD, cat mom, distance runner, and amateur home cook with a passion for whole food, plant based eating. I currently live in Denver, CO with my incredible boyfriend David, and my precious cat Eliza. My dream is to share the know-how on living a balanced, healthy, flourishing life that YOU can create for yourself.
I believe in a life well lived that begins with health from inside out. In my very early twenties, I was disenchanted with my life. I was in my undergraduate, in treatment for an eating disorder I’d been battling since my teens, unsatisfied in personal relationships, and desperately searching for a way to put myself together. It wasn’t until I changed the way I saw food and nutrition in my own life, that I was able to bring balance, clarity, and LIFE back into my life.
Food is the word. For all of human existence food has been a point of connection between people, cultures, our hearts, and our minds. Over time we have learned to see food as the enemy, as a substance that steals our health and keeps us trapped in bodies that don’t perform to full potential. So we turned to fad diets, packaged “health foods,” processed low-calorie snacks, and bad information via ANY Internet source. Well, it stops here!
I believe that good food and good nutrition are the keys to overall health, physically, mentally, and emotionally. I believe in embracing food as a way to support and fuel, and breaking the chain of seeing food as a poison, but instead striving to nourish a life worth living.
I believe in a healthy dose of exercise and finding a movement that fits YOU. Whether it’s running a marathon, dancing, yoga, or kickboxing, I want you to feel inspired to find your own fitness. Exercise should be a practice that fuels your life, not a punishment for it.
No longer searching for a quick-fix or a miracle pill, I hope that you can find support HERE. Whether you need advice and recipes to use at home, or are looking for more personalized coaching to support your lifestyle (COMING SOON), I want to provide it for you here!
What you’ll find in this blog are, GOOD nutrition information, training and lifestyle advice, insights into my own training and life, and the occasional recipe and review of products that can support this lifestyle.
I didn’t want to believe it until I saw it either, but coming from a 20-something woman, who’s been on both sides of the street… Toe the starting line, and let’s get living!
